What Is Inside
- A system prompt for an SMS intake agent that gathers the job details and hands off to a person
- A system prompt for a web chat qualifier that answers basic questions and books or routes the lead
- A system prompt for an after hours responder that sets honest expectations for the morning
- A shared guardrail block: never quote an unapproved price, when to hand off, what never to say
- A business facts sheet you fill in once, which every prompt reads from
- A handoff note format your staff can read in ten seconds
- Eight test conversations with a pass and fail description for each, plus a set of hostile tests
- A tone check that compares the bot with how your real front desk writes
Who it is for. Service business owners and the people who build their chat and text tools, using Claude or any other capable language model.
Time it saves. Our estimate is that it saves a builder a few days of prompt writing and testing, and saves the owner the cost of the first wrong answer a bot gives a customer.
What You Get
Three system prompts, ready to paste into Claude or another capable model. One runs text message intake. One runs a chat box on your website. One answers after hours. Each one reads from a single sheet of business facts you fill in once, so your hours, services and service area are the same everywhere.
Around the prompts are the parts that keep them safe: a guardrail block that every prompt shares, a clear set of handoff rules, and a list of things the bot must never say. Most of all, the bot never quotes a price nobody approved.
Why Prompts Alone Are Not Enough
Anyone can write a prompt that sounds friendly. The hard part is what happens on the tenth conversation, when a customer asks how much, gets upset, or asks for something you do not do. A bot that guesses is worse than no bot, because it says something confident and wrong while nobody is watching.
So this pack comes with tests. Eight sample conversations show what a good reply looks like and what a failing one looks like. A set of hostile tests tries to trick the bot into quoting, promising or making things up. Run them before launch and after every prompt change.
What It Does Not Include
It is not software and it does not connect to your phone or website. You need a tool or a developer to wire the prompts to your texting number or chat box. It does not include a price list or a quote tool. The prompts are built to hand pricing to a person on purpose. And it will not make a bot sound like you without some work. The tone check shows you how to close that gap.
Where It Comes From
We run an AI front desk for a working auto repair shop every day. These prompts carry the rules that came out of that work. The AI front desk build page shows how the whole system fits together.
Questions People Ask
Which AI model do these prompts work with?
They are written for Claude and work with any capable chat model that accepts a system prompt. Smaller, cheaper models tend to break the guardrails more often, so run the test conversations on whichever model you pick.
Can the bot give prices if I want it to?
The pack is built so it does not. If you decide to allow set prices later, add them to the facts sheet as approved prices and change one rule. That should be an owner's decision made on purpose.
Do I need to know how to code?
Not to use the prompts. Many chat and CRM tools let you paste a system prompt into a settings box. Wiring it to your own texting number usually needs a developer or a tool that does it for you.
What if a customer tries to trick the bot?
The guardrails cover the common tricks, and the hostile tests let you check them yourself. No prompt is perfect, which is why every thread has a person who can step in.
